The Service Technician is a key member of our team, performing custom service work and maintenance of beautiful tile and grout areas in commercial and residential environments. As the Service Technician, your job is to estimate, plan, budget, complete and document all aspects of the specific project you are working on. This is a GREAT opportunity for a self-starter wanting to make a change in their lives regarding careers and income. You must be independent, highly motivated, and reliable. Must have solid oral and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate verbally and in writing with clients and administrative personnel. A great attitude and work ethic is a must and previous experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate. Hours: Mon–Fri, 2–4 days/week, 15–30 hours/week

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Perform tile and grout service work at a different job site every day. You must be able to start and finish each job by yourself
  • Report and escalate to management as needed
  • Manage the relationship with the client and all team members
  • Meet with clients to give detailed estimates and clarify specific requirements of each project
  • Use and continually develop leadership skills
  • Collaborate with other service technicians to overcome challenges, ensure consistency, and enhance region operations
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Proof of U.S. citizenship

  • Valid Driver's License
  • High School degree or equivalent; additional experience as a contractor, trade worker, or technician is a plus, but not necessary
  • Familiarity with mobile tools and applications
  • Experience with basic hand and power tools
  • Physically able to meet requirements of the job which may include working in confined spaces, lifting heavy equipment, and kneeling down on your knees frequently (knee protection gear will be provided)
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service

Floor Doctors is hiring an experienced Lead Technician to anchor our restoration team. The Lead Technician runs the most complex regrouting, color sealing, and restoration projects in our pipeline, mentors newer service technicians in the field, and is the senior point of contact on multi-day commercial jobs. You'll spend most of your week in the field producing premium work, with the remainder coaching teammates, refining job-site processes, and closing out projects with clients. We're looking for someone who already takes pride in clean lines and durable results — and wants the next step toward a leadership role.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute high-complexity tile & grout restoration projects from start to finish
  • Train, coach, and quality-check Service Technicians in the field
  • Own daily project quality, timeline, and customer communication
  • Diagnose tile, grout, and substrate issues and recommend the right scope of work
  • Maintain accurate job documentation, photos, and material usage reports
  • Collaborate with the Estimator and Operations Coordinator to keep schedules realistic
  • Identify process improvements and roll them out across the technician team

Requirements

You'll meet homeowners, property managers, and facility directors at their property, walk the space, diagnose the right scope of work, and present a clear, written quote on the spot. The right candidate is comfortable having a conversation, confident explaining the value of restoration over replacement, and motivated by a base + commission structure that rewards closing high-quality work. We'll train you on our pricing, materials, and process — you bring the people skills, presentation, and consistency.

  • Run scheduled in-home, on-site, and video-call estimates across the Houston metro
